On 25th October 2024, the Copyright Licensing and Administration Society of Singapore (CLASS), held its 14th Annual Bursary Award at The Pod@ NLB where it awarded 40 local tertiary students over $100,000 in bursaries. This adds on to the already impressive $1million given out since the award’s inception, which has now benefitted over 550 students and counting.
Championing respect for copyright, CLASS recognises the important part that education plays in helping society to grow and benefit from intellectual collaboration. The recipients of the Bursary Award embody this fact, which is why CLASS and its partners are always proud to come together to assist students in navigating their financial challenges to succeed in their academic endeavours.
In his speech, CLASS CEO, Mr Andrew Fong, urged recipients to, “pursue life with utmost enthusiasm”, saying how carrying such an attitude would enable students to “never stop short of greatness in each new adventure you embark on”. This echoes CLASS’s belief that in empowering students to embrace their talents, society will always be able to benefit from cultural development. With the significance of the Bursary Awards, CLASS will continue in its effort to nurture students to maximise their potential and looks forward to awarding the next batch of recipients!

This year’s recipients were chosen by their respective institutions, including the National University of Singapore, Singapore Management University, Singapore Institute of Management, Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore Institute of Technology, Singapore University of Social Sciences, and the five polytechnics: Nanyang, Ngee Ann, Temasek, Singapore, and Republic.
