The Copyright School Challenge 2025/26 Award Ceremony was held on 23 May 2026 at the National Library Building, as part of the Asian Festival of Children’s Content 2026.
Centred on this year’s theme, “Worlds We Make,” the competition brought together students from across various educational levels to showcase their creativity and talent. Primary 3 and 4 students demonstrated their storytelling abilities through essay writing, while Primary 5 and 6 students expressed their imagination through poetry. Students from secondary schools and tertiary institutions further enriched the competition with self-produced video entries, displaying remarkable creativity and artistry.
The Creative Writing Competition received a strong number of submissions, offering diverse interpretations of the competition’s theme. Essay judges highlighted the students’ vivid imaginations, noting how they skilfully wove together contemporary, science fiction, and fantasy elements in their narratives. Poetry judges likewise praised the depth of expression in the poems, particularly the raw emotions conveyed through the students’ words.
In the Essay Writing category, Navira Ilampirai Arun from Innova Primary School emerged as champion. Sophie Copland from Cantonment Primary School and Rhea Sofia Binte Muhammad Rizal from St Hilda’s Primary School secured second and third place respectively.
The Poetry Writing category was equally competitive, with Adil Putra Didi Affandi from Jurong Primary School taking first place. Dionne Wong Yixuan from Henry Park Primary School and Goh Yong Yen Valerie from Innova Primary School placed second and third respectively.
For the Video Competition, judges commended the outstanding quality of submissions and the broader range of styles and techniques showcased this year. After careful deliberation, Cameraless Cameo from Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary) clinched the Gold Award. Altaf from Ngee Ann Secondary School and Flower Power from Singapore Chinese Girls’ School received the Silver and Bronze awards, as first and second runners-up respectively.
As the Copyright School Challenge continues to go from strength to strength, CLASS is encouraged by the passion and creativity demonstrated by today’s youth. Their talents ensure that the “Worlds We Make” will continue to inspire and flourish for generations to come.
