Championing Educational Excellence: CLASS Honours 40 Exceptional Tertiary Students

The Copyright Licensing & Administration Society of Singapore (CLASS) held its 13th Bursary Award on 28 November 2023, awarding 40 local tertiary students over $100,000 in bursaries. Since its inception, CLASS, has made continuous strides in advocating the importance of copyrighted works, thereby fostering a culture of mutual learning and intellectual collaboration. The recipients of these bursaries are a testament to this fact, continuously encouraging CLASS and its partners to come together as a community, dedicating their efforts to helping students overcome financial hurdles and excel in their endeavours.

The ceremony, hosted at The Pod @ NLB, was made special by the attendance of Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Second Minister for Education and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs, as Guest of Honour. During his speech, Dr Maliki detailed how intellectual property was a key enabler of knowledge, saying, “Copyright ensures authors continue to create high quality, engaging and learning resources to help stretch students’ imagination and strengthen the foundation of their learning”. Dr Maliki further urged students to “be a pillar of support to others in the community and carry on the ripple effect of empowering others to be the best that they can be”.
